Summary

Investing in healthy watersheds tackles many priorities in the face of cumulative environmental and climate impacts: species recovery, job creation, reconciliation, community resilience, and more. Eleven organizations including West Coast Environmental Law (collectively representing over 100,000 community members who care about watersheds) responded to the BC government's invitation to provide feedback towards the development of a BC Watershed Security Strategy and Fund.

The joint submission identifies key recommendations to address and accelerate community safety and watershed security, and underscores the importance of an effective Strategy and Fund co-created with Indigenous Nations.
